Angelo Battaglia 3/10/34 – 11/26/23

Founder and owner of Two Brothers from Italy, Angelo’s Ristorante, and Rosalia’s Deli
(Elmhurst), Angelo immigrated to America from Italy in 1972 with his wife and three children
and settled in Elmhurst. He was fiercely devoted to family and friends, and had a smile that
could light up a room. He exemplified courage, tenderness, loyalty, hospitality, pride for one’s
work, generosity, respect, and patience. Always cooking for his family, friends, and community
members, Angelo handed down that adoration to everyone that had the pleasure to meet him.
He was a loving and devoted husband for 63 years to Rosalia (Bucaro) Battaglia and father to
Giacinto, Carmela, and Giovanna.

Angelo Battaglia, born in Altavilla Milicia, Sicily on March 10th, 1934, was in God’s hands in
Elmhurst, Illinois on November 26th, 2023.

Angelo was preceded in death by his parents Giacinto Battaglia and Carmela Grana, son
Cristoforo, his sisters Rosa, Maria, Carmela, and Rosalia, and mother and father-in-law
Giovanna and Cristoforo Bucaro.

Angelo is survived by his loving wife, Rosalia (Bucaro) Battaglia; Son Giacinto Battaglia (Diane),
their children Rosalia (Ezequiel) Fernandez with great grandchildren Maxima and Mason, Carra
(Chris) Salzman with great grandchildren Enza and Vincent, Angelo (Faustina) with great
grandchildren Lola, Adalyn, Micah, and Eleanor, Bianca (Jesse), and Julia.

Daughter Carmela (Lucio) Di Nunno and their children Attilio (Madison), Angelo, Alessia, and
Gianluca.

Daughter Giovanna (Salvatore) Calderone and their children Teresa (Jake) Whitt with great
grandchildren Sebastian and Giovanna, Rosalia (Mike) Bledsoe with great grandchild Eliot,
Adriana, and Calogero.

Survived by his sister Gaetana (Joseph) Costanza, brother Antonino (Rosaria) Battaglia, as well
as many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in law, and God children.

The Wake will be at Pedersen Ryberg Funeral Home at 435 North York Street, Elmhurst, Illinois
on November 29 from 3 pm – 8 pm.

Followed by the funeral on November 30 at 8 am at Pedersen Ryberg Funeral Home, and the
funeral mass 9:30 am at Immaculate Conception church at 134 Arthur Street, Elmhurst, Illinois.
